Songlines: Developing innovative arts programmes for use with children who are visually impaired or brain injured.

This is a chapter in the book ”Using the Creative Arts in Therapy and Healthcare: A Practical Introduction”.

The Songlines programme was a project created for children who are partially sighted, blind, or have acquired brain injuries, who, due to physical restrictions, can not fully appreciate the activities of existing successful Clowndoctor interactions. This chapter describes the project research and development; training content and training sessions; Songlines philosophy; and Songlines artistic repertoire. The chapter concludes with a summation of successes of the Songlines project, and lessons learned from the project.
